Anglo Indian chef curries are the only British Indian Restaurant (BRI) style curry pack that enables you to make a curry that is as good if not better than the best BRI curries you can buy in a restaurant or takeaway and you can, with a little practice, make one in the same time as the restaurant does. You can make them just as you want them, you chose how much oil, salt or sugar you don't have to have an oil slick floating on the top!
What's so special about our curries? We set out to enable anyone be they a caterer or cooking at home to be able to make British Indian Restaurant curries. Using basically the same technique as used in Indian restaurants in the UK. This technique relies mainly upon making a vat of base gravy (this takes a couple of hours to prepare) at the beginning of the day and pre cooking the meat. With this done the chef simply blends a portion of the base gravy with different spices, herbs, vegetables, fruit and meat as appropriate to the particular dish that a customer orders. All this takes place in just 10 - 15 minutes because all the lengthy preparation was done in the making of the base gravy/sauce.
So if you have the base gravy/sauce and the necessary spices etc. There is no reason for you not being able to do the same at home or in your restaurant as takes place in the British Indian Restaurant provided, that is, you have the correct spice blends and other ingredients to hand.
There are spice packs available from various companies including the large supermarkets, made as bottled curry sauces however these always contain ingredients that are there just to preserve the mixture and the quality of even the best of these is nowhere near as good as a fresh sauce, including those sold at supermarket deli?s.
Our curries are dehydrated and therefore do not contain preservatives, stabilisers, fillers or other ingredients that you would not expect to find in a fresh restaurant curry. This gives our curries a fresh taste that is far superior to anything you can currently buy off a supermarket shelf or in a deli. Our dehydrated base sauce which is ready to use in just five minutes enables you to use the same process as the restaurant to make your curry, we have blended the spices to simplify the making of your curry without compromising the quality. Our packs contain all that we can include in a dehydrated form leaving you to supply only the everyday items and fresh ingredients.
Where can you buy our curries? Currently our curries can be purchased from this web site and in Devon from Maxwell's the grocers of Butchers Row, Barnstaple, Griffins Yard, South Molton, from us at Barnstaple Pannier Market on any Tuesday and at Tiverton Pannier Market on Fridays and Saturdays. We are planning to be at other Markets in the Devon area soon.
